First 3.3V ARINC 717 / ARINC 429 Transceiver
6/5/2014
Holt Integrated Circuits announced today a new transceiver compliant with the ARINC 717 and ARINC 429 protocols. The device provides a seamless interface between the digital protocol and Harvard Bi-Phase (HBP) and / or Bi-Polar Return-to-Zero (BPRZ) encoded physical layers. ARINC 717 is the main protocol used in aircraft Digital Flight Data Recorders (“black boxes”) and Digital Flight Data Acquisition Units.   Read more

2/21/2014
Holt Integrated Circuits today announced that Gables Engineering selected its HI-8444 Quad ARINC 429 Line Receiver and HI-8596 3.3V Single-Rail ARINC 429 Line Driver for use in the new Gables gTools ARINC Bus Analyzer.   Read more
Application Programming Interface (API) for MIL-STD-1553 Integrated Terminals
2/6/2014
Holt Integrated Circuits today introduced a new Application Programming Interface (API) for its MIL-STD-1553 integrated terminal devices, HI-6130 and HI-2130. The API applies a standardized set of functions for configuration, control, status, and interrupt processing, isolating the programmer from low-level register, RAM and discrete I/O transactions operating in the background.   Read more
Development Kits for Autonomous ARINC 429 Devices
1/23/2014
Holt Integrated Circuits today introduced several application development kits to complement its recently introduced family of autonomous ARINC 429 devices, HI-8470, HI-8475 and HI-8476. These devices connect directly to the ARINC 429 bus and enable transmission or reception of data without using an MCU or software. All control and configuration is done in hardware, by strapping logic-level input pins.   Read more
ARINC 429 Line Receiver Family with Built-In DO-160G Level 3 Lightning Protection
1/16/2014
Holt introduces a new ARINC 429 line receiver family with fully integrated lightning protection circuitry. The built-in circuitry ensures compliance with RTCA/DO-160G, Section 22 Level 3 Pin Injection Test Waveform Set A (3 & 4), Set B (3 & 5A) and Set Z (3 & 5B), enabling direct connection to the ARINC 429 bus without external components. All devices operate from a 3.3V or 5.0V supply.   Read more
ARINC 429 Repeater Reference Design Operating without MCU or Software
12/12/2013
Contrary to what one may assume, a repeater is more than simply connecting the output of an ARINC 429 line receiver to the input of a line driver. Such simple solutions usually result in transmitted waveforms that violate ARINC 429 timing requirements. Holt provides an elegant and cost effective solution for an autonomous ARINC 429 repeater using a two-component solution, eliminating microcontroller, software and associated certification costs, and any additional ARINC 429 protocol devices.   Read more
Holt Expands SPI Discrete-to-Digital Sensing IC Family with High Impedance Low-Threshold Device
11/27/2013
Holt Integrated Circuits expands its discrete-to-digital portfolio with the introduction of HI-8437, a 3.3V, 32-channel, discrete-to-digital sensing IC with SPI interface and low threshold sensing capability. The high impedance sense input thresholds and hysteresis are programmable via the 20MHz SPI port in 100mV steps, from 0.4V to 5.2V and all 32 sense output states may be read with a single SPI command. In addition, the device has built-in lightning protection on the sense inputs.   Read more
Holt Releases Drop-In Replacement for DDC MIL-STD-1553 Transceiver BU-63133L8
11/14/2013
Holt Integrated Circuits today announced the introduction of HI-1582, a pin-compatible, “form and fit” drop-in replacement for the Data Device Corporation MIL-STD-1553 transceiver, BU-63133L8. The new device is a single-channel transceiver designed for use with Holt MIL-STD-1553 isolation transformers with 1:2.50 turns ratio.   Read more
