Validation of MIL-STD-1553 Drop-In Replacement Solutions

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Mission Viejo, CA (October 10, 2019) – Holt Integrated Circuits today announced formal RT validation of its recently announced family of MIL-STD-1553 industry-standard drop-in replacement devices. Validation was performed at Test Systems, Inc., an independent US Air Force approved testing service for MIL-STD-1553 remote terminals. A validation report is available on request.

The validated family of devices offers both pin and software register-level compatibility with many Data Device Corporation (DDC®) MIL-STD-1553 terminals. In addition, one device variant, HI-62003, broadens the feature set by offering Error-Correcting Code (ECC) SRAM with improved high speed host interface. Footprint is also reduced, while still providing a low cost, software compatible device.

“Third party validation by an industry recognized test facility assures our customers that our MIL-STD-1553 devices fully comply with the specification,” said Sean Sleicher, Director of Business Development at Holt. “This is an important step in customer end system certification.”

Leroy Earhart, President and CEO of Test Systems Inc. stated “For many years, Holt has used our proven test facility to validate all its MIL-STD-1553 RT designs. This latest design is no exception, passing all requirements of the MIL-STD-1553 RT Validation Test Plan, MIL-HDBK-1553 Appendix A.”
